Glorious weather, combined with delectable food and the best vintages of wine in the world, set the tone for success at the annual Treasure Coast Wine Festival held in Vero Beach , Florida on February 8-10.

Two local restaurants, the Tides Restaurant and the new Indigo Room at the Vero Beach Hotel and Club, prepared special menus paired with Vintner selected wines which were enjoyed by two hundred diners. T he Brown-Forman wines were perfectly paired with each course and the live auction lead by Fritz Hatton, was a smashing success! People are already asking me about the date for the 2009 Treasure Coast Wine Festival. That is a sure sign of our overall success.” Kennedy added, “We are currently quantifying the weekend's success and will release the final numbers in the next few weeks.”

Beneficiaries are Indian River Medical Center Foundation, Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation and The Vero Beach Museum of Art. The Treasure Coast Wine Festival is an organization committed to supporting health care, social services and educational programs in Indian River County in order to make a positive difference in the life of families and children. Its purpose is exclusively charitable.
The 7th Treasure Coast Wine Festival will be held on Friday through Sunday, February 8-10, 2008. The Festival represents the culmination of a long-time dream. Two closely knit non-profit organizations, the Indian River Medical Center Foundation and Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation, along with their dedicated boards of directors and a multitude of friends of the Foundations who are enthusiastic wine lovers, came together for the past six years to create what is known as the Treasure Coast Wine Festival. The Vero Beach Museum of Art has been added this year as the third beneficiary.
According to Kirsten Kennedy, Treasure Coast Wine Festival’s Special Events Coordinator, “Our mission is committed to supporting health care, social services and educational programs in Indian River County in order to make a positive difference in the lives of families and children. Its purpose is exclusively charitable.”
Celebrating 75 years of caring for our community, Indian River Medical Center (IRMC) is an award-winning 335-bed, all private room, not-for-profit hospital which provides Indian River County, the Treasure Coast and the Central Florida region with a full array of comprehensive, high quality services. In addition to a new heart center affiliated with Duke University Health System, IRMC is well known for its comprehensive cancer program, nationally recognized vascular surgery and orthopedic services, its spacious and modern ED and a wound healing center recognized for its outstanding results. From newborns to patients requiring orthopedic implants, IRMC strives to provide patients with more of what they want and need in healthcare. The Indian River Medical Center Foundation, an affiliate of Indian River Medical Center, and one of the three Wine Festival charities, is a not-for-profit, philanthropic organization whose primary mission is to generate contributions to supplement the capital requirements of the medical center. The Foundation is committed to developing a sense of community purpose in support of the medical center's mission, which is to provide excellent, cost competitive healthcare services to our community.
The second of three Wine Festival charities is The Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of the Treasure Coast, that provides comprehensive healthcare services throughout Indian River, Brevard, and northern St. Lucie Counties. The VNA offers skilled nursing care; home health aides; physical, speech, and occupational therapy; as well as companions and transportation. The VNA is the only licensed hospice provider in Indian River County. The non-profit organization also provides community wellness services such as flu and pneumonia vaccination clinics, free monthly blood pressure/blood sugar screenings, and a speakers’ bureau. The VNA & Hospice Foundation is committed to its mission of providing home health and hospice care for everyone, regardless of their financial resources. The Foundation’s Board of Directors is responsible for raising the funds necessary to enable the VNA to provide approximately $1 million in charity home health and hospice care each year for those in our community who are uninsured or have limited financial means. For more than 30 years, the VNA has never turned away a patient in need due to their inability to pay.
Rounding out the trio of benefiting charities is The Vero Beach Museum of Art, situated on 7 acres of Indian River County's 54 acre Riverside Park on the east bank of the Indian River lagoon. It is the largest art facility of its kind on Florida's Treasure Coast. After twenty-one years of solid professional growth, the Museum remains the most celebrated cultural gem in the region with art exhibitions admired and appreciated by its community and out-of-town visitors alike. This 55,412 sq. ft. art facility features five art galleries, the Wahlstrom Sculpture Garden, Alice and Jim Beckwith Sculpture Park, an education wing with five art studio classrooms, library, seminar rooms, an outdoor studio and foundry, the 250-seat state-of-the-art Leonhardt Auditorium, the Holmes Great Hall, Museum Store, Chelsea's at the Museum café, Education Wing Galleries, and exceptional public spaces for art installations, family events and public programs. The accredited art Museum and educational institution provides the opportunity for the cultural enrichment of the public through exhibitions, explorations in the humanities through programs of lectures and seminars, offerings in the musical, cinematic, and dramatic arts, and the collection, preservation, and presentation of important American and international works of art.
The Festival weekend launches on Friday, February 8 with the pairing of ten Renowned Chefs and World Class Vintners, creating exquisite dining experiences at area restaurants and private residences. An exclusive black tie dinner will be held on Saturday, February 9, with its exceptional silent and live auctions held under an expansive tent at the Vero Beach Museum of Art. The weekend will culminate under the tent on Sunday, February 10 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with an afternoon of wine tasting, demonstrations and seminars, all for a nominally priced admission. Tickets will go on sale via the website this fall.

It is attended by wine aficionados and collectors from around the globe who, on this special weekend, February 8-10, 2008, will translate their love of fine wines into charitable resources to support essential healthcare, social services and educational programs in Indian River County.

More than 100 volunteers will lend their time, effort and support to the entire weekend’s festivities.
In conjunction with the dedicated Festival staff and volunteers, The Wine Festival Board of Directors have assembled an amazing team of international vintners, celebrity chefs and community volunteers who will graciously donate their time so that the dollars earned from the Festival will benefit the Indian River Medical Center Foundation, Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice Foundation and the Vero Beach Museum of Art, who contribute so wonderfully to the well-being of the community. FROM: Beverly S. Paris, Paris Productions for the Treasure Coast Wine Festival
Organizers of the Treasure Coast Wine Festival are pleased to announce that the popular event, held in Vero Beach beginning in 2000, is returning in 2008 bigger and better than ever before. Following a one season hiatus to expand the wine festival to even higher levels, it was determined that 2007 was a year to reposition the event.
"In six years, the Treasure Coast Wine Festival has raised almost 1.7 million dollars from the live and silent auctions and all has been donated to the respective charities," shares Kirsten Kennedy, Event Coordinator for the Festival. "During this transition year we made application for and received confirmation of our own 501 C3 non-profit status. With the support from the original organizers and several loyal board members and volunteers, we were able to step back, regroup and rebuild."
To that end, The 7th Treasure Coast Wine Festival will be held on Friday through Sunday, February 8-10, 2008. The Festival represents the culmination of a long-time dream. Two closely knit non-profit organizations, the Indian River Medical Center Foundation and Visiting Nurse Association/Hospice Foundation, along with their dedicated boards of directors and a multitude of friends of the Foundations who are enthusiastic wine lovers, came together to create what is known as the Treasure Coast Wine Festival. The Vero Beach Museum of Art has been added this year as the third beneficiary.
"Including the Vero Beach Museum of Art as one of our three beneficiaries was an ideal selection" according to Kennedy. "Our mission is committed to supporting health care, social services and educational programs in Indian River County in order to make a positive difference in the lives of families and children. Its purpose is exclusively charitable."
Individuals from far and wide, as well as those in our own back yards, can look forward to enjoying a weekend of fabulous food prepared by renowned chefs and preeminent wines from around the world. The hand-picked planning committee is coordinating a weekend that will allow anyone who has a love for wine to enjoy one or more facets of the Festival. Renowned Chefs will be paired with World Class Vintners on Friday, February 8, creating exquisite dining experiences at area restaurants and private residences. An exclusive black tie dinner will be held on Saturday, February 9, with its exceptional silent and live auctions held under an expansive tent at the Vero Beach Museum of Art.
